Charles Lamont was born on 9th February 1899 at Kirkpatrick Fleming, Dumfriesshire to quarryman Thomas Lamont and Susannah nee Graham
1901- Living on the Old Graitney Road, Kirkpatrick Fleming. Father a freestone quarryman .
1911- at 4,Wide Arch, Cavendish Street, Workington 2nd of 5 sons. 3 rooms. This census states that he was born in Workington as was his younger brother. This is an error. Father a labourer for the corporation.
WW1 – too young for active service, employed at Gretna until joining the Royal Navy on 29th April 1919 to 7th June 1922 on ‘Victory 11’
1921-listed as an ex Gretna worker. In Carlisle- Charles, Thomas, Joseph and 2 others are on this record.
1925-married Rose Ann McManus in Carlisle
1939- 13, Shakespeare Street, Carlisle. General Labourer- heavy worker. At least 5 children evident
July 1962- died at Carlisle aged 63
