Eleanor Shaw was born on 12th September 1891 to Margaret J McKenzie. There is no record of her father although in 1911 there is an indication that Margaret is a widow and has not had any children.
No record of father.
1901- no record of Eleanor. Mother , a charwoman living at Church Street, Sunderland Widowed.
1911- 56, Burleigh St, Sunderland. No occ. Mother- Margaret J McKenzie-Widow-charwoman- own account. 2 rooms, 4 people. The other two are a boarder and her daughter.
WW1- Eleanor was employed at H M Factory Gretna ( listed in 1921 census as an ex Gretna worker). Given her background and occupation in 1939, she was probably a munitionette.
1921- listed as living with Margaret ( mother)
1939- 43 Harrison’s Buildings, Sunderland. Eleanor is “unpaid domestic “ She shares with a younger female born in 1922-a brewery worker.
23rd September 1947- Eleanor died at Sunderland.
