Ernest Henry Sealey 1871-1949

Ernest Henry Sealey was born on 6th January 1871 at Dovercourt, Essex to George and Eliza nee Paddle.

1871 – living at Stephen’s Field. Father a builder. Ernest the youngest of 6

1881 –living at  1 New Rd, Harwich. Father a “builder employing 8 men and 2 boys” Now a younger sister.

1891-Father has died. Ernest is the only child at home living at Myrtle Cottages, Harwich. A  Bricklayer.

22nd March 1896, married Nellie Fox at St Nicholas Church, Deptford, Greenwich. Both of 14a, Armada Street, Deptford at the time. Nellie was a cook.

1901 living at Risborough Lane , Ashley Terrace, Cheriton , Kent Ernest a bricklayer.

1911 Living at 37A , Trentham Street, Southfields, S.W. 5 rooms with a boarder staying. Ernest a bricklayer.

WW1- too old for military service. He and Nellie listed on Electoral register as living at 31 Delhi Rd,  Eastriggs. Working as a general foreman at Gretna.

1921 – living in Wandsworth, London. Ernest Henry, Nellie, George and 1 other are on the record.

1939 – living at 4  Meriden Street, Coventry .D of B given as 12th February 1961. This is incorrect as he was 2 months old on the 1871 census.

24th April 1949  died at  4 Meriden Street, Coventry aged 78.
