Francis James Brydon 1875-1965

Francis [Frank] James Bry[i]don was born on 5th February 1875 in Worcester, Massachusetts, to James Jones Brydon, a wire roller,  and Mary nee Simmons. Both parents were English.

1881- living at James St , Prestwich, Manchester. Mother widowed, a seamstress. G/B. Both children born in USA.

1891-28 Ostrich Lane, Prestwich, Manchester. Described as a British subject. Robert a cachier’s clerk.

1901- 7 Mountfield, Prestwich. An accountant’s clerk. His sister , husband and children also live with Robert and his mother.

1906 – married Mary Elizabeth Dixon at Prestwich.

1911-Married , no children,  6 rooms at 19 Gardner Rd, Prestwich. Secretary for wholesale, British subject by parentage

Still there 1915 – electoral register.

WW1 – too old for military service . Employed at Gretna ( listed in 1921 census as an ex Gretna worker) Probably a clerical role.

1921- Francis , Joseph, Mary and 2 others in the house in Carlisle.

1939- Solicitors Cashier. Living at Allenwood House , East View, Broadwath, Gt Corby, Brampton, Cumberland.

Died 4th September 1965  aged 90 at Allenwood, Head’s Nook, Carlisle ( Same address as 1939)
