George Thomas Bailey was born in Hanley, Staffordshire on 30th August 1891 to George Bailey and Emily nee Brookes.
1901- living at Antrum/Antrim/Anstrum St, Hanley. Father- Potters earth miner.
Miner. George is the eldest of 4 children. B/G/G/G
1911- living at 5 Gordon St, Hanley. 4 rooms. George is a Lamp officer in colliery. Father a colour grinder. Mother cup handler at pottery. 9 children born with 6 surviving. B/G/G/G/B/G
April 1919 – married Lizzie Jones at Stoke on Trent.
WW1 – employed at Gretna. He is listed in the 1921 census as a n ex Gretna worker. It is possible Lizzie worked there as well.
