Jacob Stewart was born at Rockland, Cummersdale, Carlisle in 1870 to Jacob and Hannah nee Wilkinson.
1881- living at 11, Cumming Street, Carlisle. Father a carter.
1891- Lodging at Church Street , Stanwix, Carlisle- a tailor’s apprentice.
1901- 2 ,Todd’s Court, Botchergate, Carlisle working as a tailor. Mother is widowed.
1909 Q3 married Mary Ann Ostell in Carlisle
1911 – at King Street, 2 rooms, had 1 child who died. Working as a stableman for a grocer. Wife working as a laundress in a public laundry.
1921 – listed as an ex Gretna worker having been too old for military service. Jacob, Mary Ann, Isabella and 2 others are on this record in Carlisle
July 1924 – died at Carlisle aged 54
