He is mentioned in an article in the Cheltenham Chronicle, Saturday 26th October 1940, when , as the driver of a car, he was involved in a fatal accident. “ A remarkable feature of a fatal accident on the Evesham Road, Cheltenham, on Tuesday, was that the woman cyclist who was killed was returning from an ambulance lecture where she acted as patient, and a passenger in the car which was involved in the collision was the nurse who had been giving the lecture.” The verdict was Death by Misadventure and Mr. Channon was not to blame (2)
