Gladys Bramley Scott was her best friend of Rose Ann Palmer’s daughter and worked at H.M. Factory Gretna, as their relative kindly explained:
“Gladys’ best friend Katherine “Kitty” Palmer and her mother Rose Ann Palmer also worked at Gretna.
In the above photo, Kitty is in the third row from the front, first person on the left.The lady dressed in black beside her is her mother, Rose Ann Palmer. They lived on Garfield Street in Carlisle and commuted by train to Gretna.
After the war, Kitty married Gladys’ brother Sydney Alexander Scott in 1931. Rose Ann Palmer lived with her family in Garfield Street until her death at age 83. Kitty’s brother Alexander married Gladys’ sister Mollie.”
