12th October 1918 – died at Bristol, aged 42, of 17 South Street, Greenock, Scotland. (Probate) Corporal Royal Engineers Special Brigade. Possibly having transferred to Avonmouth from Gretna along with several other chemists, where mustard gas was developed.
