Biography
My grandmother who grew up in Annan, was a supervisor at HM Factory Gretna during WW1. She always told the story of how she was meant to be on shift on the day of the big explosion. She was not at the factory at the time of the explosion as another supervisor had asked her to swap shifts, as she had a date with a boyfriend. Because my gran switched her shift, she survived. The other supervisor sadly was killed during the explosion.
