The Devil’s Porridge Museum require a Museum Curator (£32,000 per annum)
The successful applicant will lead our 5 star Museum Team into a future of excellence and assure quality development of our Collection and Exhibitions
Initial 12 month Contract

37.5 hours per week – some weekend / evening work required
Part of the Management team working with Office Bearers to run the Museum efficiently on a day to day basis
Daily management of the museum, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the facility
Ensure that targets agreed with the Board of Trustees and funders are achieved
Be responsible for maintaining a high quality Museum to full Accreditation standards and ensure continued 5 star Visit Scotland status.
Develop internal museum policies and procedures to be agreed by board of trustees
Advise the Board on strategic museum matters.
Active in fundraising , working with the Chairman and Board of Trustees
Develop income streams and ensure best value is achieved in museum expenditure
Implement a robust Marketing Policy , using Social Media, local and national press/media
Oversee a relevant programme of staff and volunteer training
Attend trustee board meetings and report regularly to the trustees
Working with volunteers and other staff on a daily basis to promote good working relationships.
Reporting concerns and progress regularly to the Line manager (Chairman)
Line Management of agreed staff members
Support the Youth and Community Engagement Officer to deliver a comprehensive events programme.
Management of agreed devolved budgets eg Temporary displays, maintenance of building and displays, Marketing
