Andrew Little 1877-1968

Andrew Little was born in Hayton, Brampton, Cumberland  on 15th November 1877 to John and Sarah nee Peel [Peal].His father was 20 years older than his mother. Father was married twice.

1881 – father a farm labourer aged 60 . Mother is 40 Living at Hayton Town Head. Youngest of 6 boys.

1891- Woodend , Hayton . Father listed as 80 in this census  ( should be 70 ) and mother at 56 with a 2 year old daughter. Father a general labourer. Now showing as middle of 7 children

1901  Railway platelayer , boarder at Brier Cottage, Hayton near Brampton, Cumberland.

20th December 1903 married Elizabeth Ann Burrows  in Carlisle

1911- Railway Goods Checker  living at 9 Graham Street, Carlisle  n 3 rooms with his wife and 4 children

WW1 – just too old for military service was employed at Gretna

1921 – listed as ex or retired Gretna worker. Andrew, Elizabeth, Agnes and 3 others are on the record in Carlisle

1939-9 Graham Street a Textile bleaching operator

1st March 1968 died at  Brier Cottage, Hayton. Aged 91
