The Devil’s Porridge Museum is the perfect place for school visits, bringing World War One, World War Two and the Solway Military Coast to life.

Typically, trips focus on WWI, WWII or Remembrance. For younger pupils, we can also offer half-day workshops looking at homes and toys in the past. However, visits can be tailored according to your educational needs and we are more than happy to provide activities focused on specific topics.

We can provide facilitated workshops for school groups visiting the museum. These sessions involve hands-on activities conducted by museum staff and volunteers designed to enrich the educational aspect of the visit. Schools can also visit on a self-led basis.

School visits are priced at £4.50 per child. For every 10 children visiting as part of school one teacher or accompanying adult is free. Pupils are welcome to bring a packed lunch for the visit, with both indoor and outdoor spaces available to use for breaks. Our standard visits run from 10am to 2.15pm, but timings can be altered to fit with the visiting school’s requirements.

Booking is essential. Please call 01461 700021 or email info@devilsporridge.org.uk to discuss your requirements or to make a booking.
