Biography

Info sent by Elspeth’s great niece: She was my paternal Grandad’s older sister, one of 8 siblings. My Grandad’s family worked in the quarry at Locharbriggs where Elspeth was born. As I child my Grandad told me that he had a sister who had died from burns in an accident in a dairy, not sure why he did not say that it was in the Munition Factory. I am attaching Elspeth’s death certificate which has the info on it. I am afraid that I don’t have any more information about her. Next time we are in the area we will certainly visit the museum.’

Death Certificate shows that Elspeth was a ‘munitions worker’ and died of ‘extensive burns and shock’
