Horace George Nichols was born on 7th January, 1881 at Rollesby, Norfolk, to Joseph and Mary Ann nee Platten.  


1881 – the census lists him as Harris G and he is the 3rd of 7 children. Father an agricultural labourer.  


1891- living at By Low Street, Rollesby, Norfolk. Father a farm labourer. Horace a scholar.  


1901- Gazes Corner, Rollesby. Father now a market gardener. Horace employed as an ‘ordinary agricultural labourer’ 


8th January 1905- married Leah Laura Green at Rollesby, Norfolk.  


1911- Ormesby, St Michael’s, Norfolk. 4 rooms. Has 1 child in 6 years of marriage. Working as a water work labourer. 


1918/19 -employed at H M Factory Gretna as a water inspector, living at 52 The Rand, Eastriggs (Electoral register)  


1939- 1 Pumping Station Cottages, Worthing, Sussex. Inspector and superintendent water supply and ARP water. Possibly 4 children.  


January 1963- died at Worthing aged 82
