Biography
Childhood: His Father’s family had been Millers and Farmers in Shrewley since the 18th century. His childhood was spent at Shrewley and at Warwick School (I’m waiting for confirmation of his school career).
Parents: His father, Ernest Page, was born at Shrewley Mill, Hatton in 1867. His Mother, Sarah Ann Warnington, was the daughter of George Warnington a farmer also from Hatton Parish
Parent’s occupations: Although born in the family Mill, Ernest Page was described in the 1891 census as living in Shrewley Village with his sister and one servant. He was described as a farmer (neither employed nor employee). By 1901 he was married and Farming Lowland Farm, Shrewley.
Schools / universities attended and years of attendance: A: Warwick School followed by B: University College, London University. The record shows that he left university sometime between passing the Special Intermediate exam in Science in 1913 and 1915 finals. There is some evidence that he Volunteered to join the Army after the outbreak of War. He was awarded BSc in Chemistry (War) in 1918. He probably joined Gretna in 1916.
Occupational history (previous jobs in their career): Gretna appears to have been his first Job. In 1921 H.M Government paid for a 1st class ticket to work at the Cordite Factory, Aruvankadu, India. He worked there until his retirement in 1947 ending up as Superintendent.
