At 20 years old (1901 census) John worked as a postman living in Tallanstown.

 

John Leonard worked as a stoker, living at E15 Falkland Road, Eastriggs when he registered his son John Josephs birth. By this time, John and his wife Mary Anne had 3 known children Molly, Malachy Anthony & John Joseph. His birth certificate confirms John & Mary Anne marriage date & her maiden name.

 

John had left Ireland according to the 1911 census, working as a dock labourer, living as a boarder in Liverpool, Lancashire.

His wife Mary Anne was living with her siblings & their 2 children Molly & Malachy, living in Dundalk.

 

At some time after 1919, the family moved back to Ireland (not found on any 1921 census records).
