John Richard Phillips was born on 26th December 1900 at Carlisle to John Robley Phillips and Fanny nee Denny.

1901- at 10 Hart Street, Rickergate, Carlisle. Father a cork merchant- employer. John the youngest of 3 children G/B/B

1911- 30 Orchard Street, Carlisle, 5 rooms. Father is a cork merchant. John now the middle of 5. All survived .

WW1- we know he worked at Gretna prior to joing the RAF.

16th June 1918- Joined Royal Air Force. Birthday stated as 26th June 1901. He was 6 months underage. He is an electrician.

1921 – listed as an ex Gretna worker. John Richard, John Robley, Frances and 8 others are on this record in Carlisle

April 1933 married Margaret McClorey in Hertfordshire. They had at least 3 children.

1939 -9 Balham Park Road, Upper Tooting, Wandsworth, London .Electrical engineer

27th January 1955 died at St Benedict’s hospital of 6 Verran Road Balham aged 55.
