August 1915 attested to Royal Engineer- occupation listed as chemist.
July 1917 married Alice Mary Longdon in Penistone registration district.
WW1 Employed at H M Factory Gretna as a works chemist living at 6 Dunedin Road, Eastriggs. (Electoral register) Name and home address appear in Dornock Farewell – Hawthorne Cottage, Thurlestone, Sheffield.
December 1918 – discharged from Royal Engineers- address is Dunedin Avenue.
1921 – Maurice, Robert, Ada, Mary and 5 others are on the record in Thurlestone.
