Robert Ritson was born in 1878 at Crosscanonby near Maryport , West Cumberland to Robert and Mary nee Ritson

1881- living at Sun Inn, Crosby, Maryport. Father an agricultural labourer. Robert the 4th of 4 children.

1891- Sun Inn, Crosby. Father a weighman. Only Robert still at home with parents.

1901- grocer’s assistant at 66 Sheffield Road, Carlisle

1902- married Elizabeth Ann Rogerson at Carlisle

1911 – Freer Street, Carlisle . Grocer’s assistant. 3 daughters . Has had 4 children , 3 survived.

WW1 employed at Gretna.

1921 – listed as ex or retired Gretna worker . Robert, Elizabeth Ann , Doris and 4 others are on the record.

Q1 1939 – Elizabeth died , Q2 1939 Robert died at Carlisle aged 61
