Robert Wotherspoon 1878-1964
Robert Wotherspoon was born on 6th July 1878 at Ralston, Renfrewshire to Robert, a letter press printer, and Jane [ Jeanie ] nee Couper .
1881- 3 Ralston Square, Paisley, the 8th and youngest child . Father a letter press printer
1891 – 23 George Street, Paisley. Father is same occupation
1901 – lodging at 17, Parker Street, Barrow in Furness , an iron turner at the shipyard works
May 1903 emigrated to Boston vis New York
1905 sailed from New York to Glasgow
30th December 1907 married Eva Barnet Nelson at Renton Dunbartonshire. He an engineer journeyman and eva a domestic servant.
1908- emigrated with Eva his wife to US via Canada
1908 – 31 Clark Place, Suffolk, Boston Massachusetts – a shipyard worker
March 1912 daughter Jane Couper Wotherspoon born at 21 Newlands Drive, Partick, Glasgow. Robert described as engineer jouneyman. Address 2 Gilmour Street, Alexandria.
November 1915 – wife died at 8 High Street, Paisley.

Dumfries and Galloway Standard – Saturday 02 June 1917
“ROBBERY AT Dornock Robert Douglas Gibson Henderson , labourer, Back Lowthertown, Dornock was accused with having on 26th May stolen a containing a purse with about 20s in money from Margaret Barton, housekeeper, A 1, Eastriggs, in Cemetery, and in a field adjoining the cemetery assaulted James Cecil Wallace Auld, foreman engineer, G 10, Eastriggs, Dornock, and Robert Wotherspoon, engineer, Jutland House, Eastriggs, and threatened to stab them with knife.”
James Auld went on to name his son Robert Wotherspoon Auld
