Thomas Robinson was born in Penruddock, near Penrith, Cumberland, on 25th April 1871 to Robert and Elizabeth nee Fallowfield.  

 

1881- living at Penruddock. Father a farmer of 65 acres. Thomas the 5th of 6 children.  

 

October 1898 married Sarah Kindleysides.  

 

1901- Rampsbeck Cottage, Watermillock. Farm manager, married with one child.  

 

1911- Rampsbeck Cottage. Has had 5 children. 4 rooms. Mother-in-law listed – a retired inn keeper.  

 

WW1 too old for active military service, employed at H M Factory Gretna  

 

1921 – Thomas, Sarah, Robert and 3 others are on the record in Longtown. Thomas listed as an ex-Gretna worker.
