1891 – living at 11 Longfield Road, Todmorden, Yorkshire. Father a cab driver groom. 4th of 7 children  


1901 – 14 Seen? Mill Lane, Todmorden. Slipper sole sewer in leather industry. Mother widowed.  


1911 – 3 Adelaide Street, Todmorden, 6 rooms. Mother remarried. Oscar a slipper maker 


April 1911 married Mary Elizabeth Welsh at Todmorden. They subsequently had 7 children.
