From Ali, granddaughter of Helen’s best friend: my grandmother Alice Bett and her best friend Nellie (Helen) Watson worked at Gretna, confirmed by photos which Judith now has. I remembered that I was told “May came too” but I had no proof – until today. In the attached photographs (found last night) you will see three of the four girls are wearing their HM Factory Gretna badges. ( Hooray! ) My grandmother is wearing a white blouse and is standing on the left, but you can just see her badge (near the lad’s head) especially if you enlarge the photo. The other photo is of the reverse side of both photos, with my mother’s handwriting. It was taken in a Studio at St. Monans, in East Fife. The boy in the picture is a cousin of Nellie and May.
