Colour booklet with a map of HM Factory Gretna. Printed and published by the Eastriggs and Gretna Heritage Trust
This Booklet is about the history of the 80 miles of railway which was built in the HM Factory grounds by the Navvies when they were building the factory so that trains could transport the cordite across the Factory to the different parts. The cordite was transported around by a fleet of fireless locomotives (one of which we have at the Museum) to make sure there were no explosions during transport.
