RAF Annan
Solway Skies
1942-1944
by Sarah Harper
With Fascism spreading across Europe, Britain rapidly expanded the Air Force to confidently compete in aerial conflict. Training bases, like RAF Annan, and satellite airfields sprun up in rural areas.
The poor weather conditions and the hilly landscape around the Solway would prove very difficult for these inexperienced pilots.
This 17 page booklet contains photographs throughout.
N.B. This booklet is incoporated within the book, “The Solway Military Coast” by Sarah Harper.
