1901- 3 Cleator Gate. Father clerk to ? breadmill. Alfred a doctor’s groomsman. Alfred the 4th of 8 children.

1911- Mother widowed living at 3 Cleator Gate. Alfred not present.

WW1 – employed at Gretna

1921 – Alfred, Janet Cranston, Herbert C and 3 others are on the record at Cleator. Alfred listed as an ex Gretna worker , single.
