Charles Conchie, born in 1876, was the fifth of 12 children born to Johnstone Conchie (ormerly McConchie) and Mary nee McHallam. He was born at Shap, Westmorland.  


1881-living in Shap, father a granite mason.  


1891- living at Granite Works, Shap. Father a granite mason.  


1899 Charles fell racing at Grasmere sports with his brothers. Read more about this here>  


9th January 1900 married Sarah Jane Blades at Penrith.  


1901- Wickersgill, Shap. A stationary engine driver. They had 2 children.  


1911- Barleythorpe Oakland, Rutland.Night watchman in stables  


WW1 – employed at H M Factory Gretna as a signalman living at Clarketon Cottage, Graitney. Too old for active military service and disabled, having lost an arm at an earlier age.  


26th September 1917-died at the Factory Hospital, Gretna of influenza and pneumonia.
