Fred Jubb was born on 28th November 1888 to Francis, a steel works labourer, and Emma nee Fretwell at Penistone, Sheffield, Yorkshire.  

 

1901- living at 9 Bridge End, Penistone. Father a labourer ion steel works. Now the 4th of 7 children.  

 

1911 – at Bridge End, father in same job as 1901. 5 rooms. 10 children born, 7 survived. Fred a labourer in rail depot at steel works.  

 

6th October 1917 married Cecilia Beattie at Dornock. His address is Military Hospital, Blackpool and 9 Bridge End, Penistone. A Private in the York and Lancaster Regiment.  

 

1917 – 1919 Employed at H M Factory Gretna. 

 

1st March 1919 – discharged as a corporal from Royal Engineers with a disability  

 

1921 – Cecilia Jane, Fred and. Willie is on the record in Penistone, Sheffied. 

 

1936 – electoral register shows address as Sisson Yard, Penistone.  

 

1939 – 18 Wentworth Road, Penistone. Crafts advisor to National Council of Social Service. Son Willie is a research physicist.  

 

Q4 1950 died aged 61 in Staincross (near Barnsley, Yorkshire) registration district.
