Further links, notes, and comments:
Isabel Irene Johnson was born in Liverpool on 2nd October 1892, the daughter of George William and Isabella Johnson. George is recorded as being a plumber and builder.
Little is known of Isabel’s life. She worked at HM Factory Gretna during the war and is remembered on the Dornock Souvenir.
After the war she returned to the family home at 1, Esplanade, Waterloo, Crosby, Liverpool, and worked as a bookkeeper. She travelled to New York in 1929 and is recorded by the US authorities as being in transit.
There is some indication that she was also a landlord. Whatever, she was very successful and when she died on 30th August 1989 in Liverpool, she left an estate worth some £650,000.
