We don’t know what role Mary had at HM Gretna, but she is remembered on the Operating Staff at Mossband, in the Mossband Farewell. Her forwarding address is Eskbank, Longtown, which was the family home.

In 1921 Mary is working as a Chocolate Piper for Carr and Co. in Carlisle.

She married Wilbert in 1926 and becomes Mary Bruce Kerr. Their son Tom is born the year later. In 1939, the family is living at Border and Mary is undertaking home duties.
