1901- living at 38 Lord Street, Carlisle. Father a railway bridge foreman

1911- 38 Lord Street, Carlisle. 4 rooms. An apprentice fitter. Father a joiner for a railway company. Only child.

1914 – married Bertha Wilson

WW1 employed at Gretna

1921- Listed in Carlisle -as an ex Gretna worker . William, Mary and Bertha plus 2 others are on the record.

April 1937 – died Carlisle aged 55
